Mid Argyll - Limited access route - Recycling collections 07.05.26

Due to ongoing issues with the limited access vehicle, we are unfortunately unable to complete the recycling collections scheduled for today.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and recognise that this is the second time this route has been missed. 

This collection will now take place on Monday 11th May.

 

Temporary road closure - Ardencraig Road (Bute)

Due to subsidence on a section of Ardencraig Road, a temporary closure has been put in place. 

An update will be provided once a full assessment has taken place. 

Pedestrian access may be limited when work is ongoing. 

General Waste - Kintyre

Due to a vehicle breakdown, today's route could not be completed. If you are located in one of the following areas and your general waste was not uplifted, please leave your bin out and we will complete the route on Thursday 7th May.

  • Meadowburn, Campbeltown
  • Southend Commercial bins
  • Moss Road
  • Machrihanish Base

Commercial uplifts in Gigha and Knapdale will now be completed on Saturday 9th May.

Glass Collections - Helensburgh

Due to a vehicle breakdown, glass collections in the Helensburgh area due on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th May could not take place.

The affected areas are:

  • Cardross
  • Craigendoran
  • Upper Helensburgh

Please leave your bins out for collection and we will provide a catch up service as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Helensburgh & Lomond - Limited Access Recycling & General Waste UPDATE 06/05/26

The limited access vehicle in Helensburgh is now back in service. Please put your bins out for collection as the following arrangements have been made to collect bins missed last week. 

Recycling due on Wednesday 29th April will be uplifted on Wednesday 6th May.
General waste and recycling due on Thursday 30th April will be uplifted on Thursday 7th May.
General waste and recycling due on Friday 1st May will be uplifted on Friday 8th May.

EV Charging Network - Faults - 05.05.26

Electric Vehicle Charger Faults

We have some faults across our network of EV chargers at the moment. We are working with our maintenance contractors to have these repaired as soon as possible.

The faults and some details are listed below, faults should be reported to Scottish Power on 0800 001 5234

Chargers with faults

  • 52898 - Manse Brea Loghilphead - there is an alternative as this location and at Lorne, Street Carpark

Street Lighting - Crosshill Avenue, Campbeltown

There is a section fault on Crosshill Avenue. We require assistance with excavation work and this has been scheduled for w/c 11th May.

Temporary closure - Lochgilphead Customer Service Point

Lochgilphead Customer Service Point will be closed on Friday 8th May and will re-open on Monday 11th May. Telephone and online services are still available.

B8035 Kinloch - Gruline, Isle of Mull - Closed at Gribun Rocks

Road closed at Gribun rocks.

B8035 Kinloch - Gruline Road - Isle of Mull

Closed to all through traffic due to rock falls at Gribun Rocks.

Diversion via A849 Kinloch - Craignure - Salen 

Barge Court - Helensburgh - Streetlighting

We are aware of an issue affecting a number of street lights on Barge Court, Helensburgh. The fault is linked to an underground cable and we therefore require contractor assistance. We have secured a contractor and aim to commence works w/c 11th or 18th May

Cliad Recycling Centre, Coll 09/04/26

Cliad Recycling Centre is only able to accept white goods and sofas (no general waste) until further notice. This is due to issues with the ferry which means the site is unable to be serviced. 

An update will be provided as soon as normal service can resume.

Road Closure B8016 - commencing 9th March 2026

Scottish Water will be undertaking a watermain upgrade along the B8016 at the River Laggan Road Bridge. Work is scheduled to begin on the 9th of March 2026 and is expected to take approximately three months to complete.  

Due to the nature and location of the works, a section of B8016 will be fully closed throughout the duration of the project.

 

 

 

Postcode search not working on payment portal

There is currently an ongoing issue with the postcode look-up on the payment portal. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our provider is looking into this. 

A83 Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead - open under traffic signal control

The A83 Lochnell Street re-opened this afternoon (24 December) under traffic signal control.

Parking restrictions on Lorne Street, Union Street and Manse Brae have now been revoked.
