Island residents in ɬ who receive a Council Tax reduction may qualify for help with electricity costs this winter, thanks to the Scottish Government’s Island Cost of Crisis Emergency Fund.
ɬ Council at its meeting on 26 November showed its commitment to a fairer, more inclusive, and resilient local economy by agreeing to sign a Community Wealth Building Charter.
“People want council services. We want to deliver council services. But council services need funding. We will continue to campaign for fair funding for ɬ’s council services. At the same time though we have to deal with the harsh reality facing the council of a £15 million budget gap.”
