Young people from across mid Argyll and Kintyre came together last month to find out how skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths can open a wide range of opportunities in ÓûÂþɬ.
Plans for a new business park at Oban Airport are progressing as ÓûÂþɬ Council has signed a contract with hub North Scotland to oversee the project that includes the delivery of site infrastructure and building a new search and rescue base. Robertson Construction Ltd will deliver this project as the main contractor.
Owners and tenants of 36 empty properties throughout ÓûÂþɬ have benefited from support from the Council’s Empty Business Property Grant Scheme over the last six months.
ÓûÂþɬ Council has offered a lifeline to Helensburgh residents following the closure of the last bank in the town. A temporary banking hub is now operating from the council’s Civic Centre until long-term alternative arrangements are in place.
ÓûÂþɬ’s pupils and teachers are achieving impressive results, with the latest Achievement of Curriculum for Excellence Levels (ACEL) data showing continued improvement across the area.
Support for young people across ÓûÂþɬ is continuing to deliver results, according to the Scottish Government’s latest Summary Statistics for Attainment.
